EDU 801 Experimental Research Methods: Introduction to Survey Research

The purpose of this course is provide doctoral students with an overview of basic research methods, both quantitative and qualitative. The course will also provide a basic introduction to corresponding data analysis procedures for conducting research in the social sciences. Further, the course will provide a context for research methods by applying them to potential research problems that are of interest to students. This course is a prerequisite for more advanced courses in quantitative and qualitative analysis.

The Research Process - The research proposal | |
- Introduction Problem statement and research questions Students will review sample Problem Statements from various sources. Students will then draft a preliminary problem based on their own research interest. The statements will then be reviewed and critiqued in class for clarification.
